For VISITECH, OPTATEC is the most important trade fair anywhere in the world this year. We introduced a world’s first for the company this year at the OPTATEC press conference – a new, compact light engine. This was an important focal point at our booth as well, and it generated lots of interest. We’ve fielded some very interesting leads here at the event. Our target group was well represented.

With its biennial schedule, OPTATEC is the leading European trade fair for several of our divisions. We see OPTATEC as an outstanding networking platform with excellent visitor quality. As far as internationalism goes, we detected a positive trend this year. We received numerous concrete RFQs at the event, which will certainly result in projects.

Target groups for our products include above all science and research. For this reason, we welcome in particular the introduction of the new “Training & Science” theme park and collaboration with EOS at OPTATEC 2010. The fact that this attracted numerous universities to the event was a positive factor for us, because young talent is drawn into the sector in this way. We were very satisfied with the number of visitors who came to our booth. In addition to the new products and product improvements we’re presenting this year, we also offer more than 10,000 standard products in the area of optical components, optical measuring instruments and analysis devices in the filed of life sciences. OPTATEC 2010 left us with the impression that things are advancing within the industry.

As always, Optatec offered an innovative and future oriented event in its anniversary year as well – for which reason it’s one of our most important international trade fairs for optical technologies, components, systems and manufacturing. In particular this year, Optatec was at the centre of attention as an important trend barometer for the entire industry to a greater extent than ever before. The positive developments which have already become apparent in our incoming orders were confirmed in Frankfurt, and we’re able to look back at a successful trade fair week.
With an alluring slogan, “Please join us in a toast”, we invited guests to a booth party on the evening after opening day. In keeping with the spirit of the soccer world championships, we greeted visitors in CVI Melles Griot jerseys, and were thus unmistakeable for customers, potential costumers and our co-exhibitors. A further highlight was our raffle with daily drawings. Winners received a USB stick in the shape of a soccer player. Some of you can look forward to receiving mail from us within the next several days. Congratulations!

We’re suppliers of measuring technology in the field of optics, and we can look back on a very successful OPTATEC 2010. We were very well received by the expert visitors. Our booth personnel had to work at full capacity continuously in order to manage the large numbers of interested parties. Many visitors approached us with concrete projects. The fact that all of the equipment at our booth is fully functional and can be tried out immediately proved to be especially advantageous. For us, OPTATEC is the most important trade fair for presenting our broad range of optical measuring instruments to national and international visitors.

On the whole, we’re satisfied with how things went at OPTATEC 2010 – with regard to both quantity and quality. From our point of view, we’ve long since left the economic low point behind us. Most of the expert visitors who came to our booth had concrete RFQs. However, our booth was poorly frequented on the last day of the trade fair.

We’re the “European control centre” for Chinese supplier China Daheng, and we’re now able to look back at a whole series of successful presentations at OPTATEC. Lots of new networks have evolved here. We’ve been able to recruit numerous new customers and maintain existing customer relations. OPTATEC is a decision maker’s trade fair with high levels of internationalism. This year as well, we’ve had excellent RFQs which will surely turn into orders. And even visitor quality has increased once again in our opinion. For us, OPTATEC is one of the three most important trade fairs at which we exhibit our products.

This has been a steady show for us with a good flow of customers to the booth all week. The contacts that we have made here have been of an excellent quality and from a variety of different nationalities, which is very encouraging. This is a very specific market and OPTATEC is an excellent show to come and meet customers new and old and competitors, all under one roof.

OPTATEC 2010 was once again a very successful and satisfying trade fair for us. Lots of discussions with new contacts, customers and other exhibitors, as well as our customer event, made the trade fair very interesting and confirmed the impression that the market continues to recover, and that focus is being concentrated to an increasing degree on new developments and innovations. OPTATEC is an interesting platform for us, because it unites representatives from a great variety of value creation steps within the optics industry and presents new products, developments and trends that SCHOTT will take part in. We plan to participate at OPTATEC again in the future, and due to the size of the trade fair we envision a clear-cut focus on 3 event days.

CONTROL is the most important trade fair for the precision optics industry. After the last two not so easy years, Optatec 2010 took place at just the right time. The recovery seems to be carrying on sustainably, and the investment atmosphere is still positive. Optatec is absolutely the leading trade fair for OptoTech. We prefer to present our newly developed products here as world premieres, which has also been the case this year. Only Optatec attracts such a high concentration of top quality expert visitors. After a rather week 2008, we once again had more visitors from foreign European countries and from overseas, which we also see as a highly positive sign. People come to Germany to look for solutions for the optics industry. Schall’s concept works well.
